HAG is a manufacturer of extremely high quality Swiss prototype HO model trains and their AC models are fully compatible with your Märklin trains.  Unlike most other European train manufacturers these days, HAG's still produces their models in their own factory where they have done so since 1944.  The facility where HAG's highly skilled personnel give the utmost in loving care and attention to detail is located in the village of Mörschwil Switzerland.    HAG uses all metal construction in the production of their locomotives.  Chassis are made from heavy gauge plated stamped steel.  Locomotive bodies are cast metal and come with plastic window inserts, detailed driver's cab interiors with driver figure and many separately applied detail parts.
All HAG drive trucks are cast metal and the motor armatures shafts are suspended at both ends by permanently lubricated miniature ball bearings.  HAG is the only HO model train manufacturer to use ball bearings in their motors.  Not only does this give smooth, silent running characteristics, they last a long, long time.  The beautifully detailed truck side frames are also cast in metal.  All models are produced in both DC and Märklin compatible AC versions.

If you have never owned a HAG locomotive, you are in for a real treat the first time you open the box.  Each pristine model comes carefully wrapped in a plastic sleeve nestled in a custom cut foam lined box.   Just opening the box confirms that you have acquired one of the finest models available.  When you first run your model and experience the quality for yourself, it will become your favorite locomotive.

HAG also produces Swiss passenger and freight cars.  All models feature cast undercarriages and truck side frames with some models being made entirely of metal.  Rolling stock are also available in DC and Märklin compatible AC versions

HAG hosted an open house on March 4th 2006.  This was a rare opportunity for enthusiasts to witness the unsurpassed quality of HAG in person.   Unfortunately, I could not attend, but I was fortunate to have friends who were there and were kind enough to share their photographs for you to enjoy.  Take a look and get a feel for what HAG is all about.

Enjoy these photos taken at the HAG open house hosted on March 4th 2006.
